Biography of Maelle Fonteneau (11/10/2004)

Maelle Fonteneau graduated from Davidson College in May 2004 with a degree in Political Science. In college, she taught ESL to adult immigrants and received funding to expand the program to include morning classes. She also led Spanish conversation sessions to other undergraduates and was a senior fellow in the Community Service Office. This service experience in addition to her Cuban and French heritage led her to join the ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project shortly after graduating.
