Derrick Wortes graduated from Harvard College in 2004 with a degree in East
Asian Studies focusing on Chinese social policy. As an undergraduate, he
filled a number of roles as a youth worker, running low-cost summer camps and
co-founding a leadership development program for at-risk teens. Before
joining the Immigrants' Rights Project, Derrick worked as a research
assistant on a four-year ethnographic study of LGBT youth.
