Biography of Mónica M. Ramírez (9/28/2005)

Mónica M. Ramírez is a Staff Attorney with the Immigrants' Rights Project. She received her BA from Harvard University in 2001 and JD from Stanford Law School in 2004. Mónica clerked for Judge Warren J. Ferguson of the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals before joining the IRP in 2005 as an Equal Justice Works Fellow. Complementing her work at IRP, where she litigates cases and advocates on behalf of immigrants, Mónica is active in community-based organizations committed to protecting and advancing the rights of immigrant, low-income and Latino communities. She is Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of Centro Legal de la Raza, a legal aid organization in Oakland, a member of Lucha Unida de Jornaleros, a grassroots day-laborer group, and Social Justice Chair of the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers' Association.
