SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Summer internships are available in the ACLU’s National Legal Program, in the following Projects and Programs:

  • Racial Justice Program, New York City
  • Human Rights Program, New York City
  • National Security Program, New York City
  • First Amendment Working Group, New York City
  • Voting Rights Project, Atlanta
  • Women's Rights Project, New York CitY
  • National Prison Project, Washington, DC
  • Immigrants' Rights Project, New York City and San Francisco
  • Drug Law Reform Project, Santa Cruz
  • LGBT & AIDS Project, New York City
  • Reproductive Freedom Project, New York City
  • Capital Punishment Project, Durham, NC
  • Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief, Washington, DC

Interns assist ACLU attorneys in all aspects of litigation, including legal research, factual investigations, and drafting of memoranda, affidavits, and briefs. Applications are accepted as early as late fall and no later than mid-January. Please see each Project’s or Program’s announcement, available on the ACLU website, for specific information about the application process.
