PART-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
NYCLU LOWER HUDSON VALLEY CHAPTER
The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) is the New York State affiliate
of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The NYCLU is one of the nation's
foremost defenders of civil liberties and civil rights. Founded in 1951 as the
New York affiliate of the ACLU, we are a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization
with six chapters and 48,000 members across the state.
Our mission is to defend and promote the fundamental principles and values
embodied in the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution. As the NYCLU fights
for civil liberties and civil rights for all, it does so through a multi-layered
program of litigation, advocacy, public education, and community organizing.
The NYCLU is seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant for our Lower Hudson
Valley Chapter office.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chapter Director in all aspects of the operation of the Lower
Hudson Valley Chapter Office;
- Provide support for client intake that requires, generating and receiving
correspondences;
- General office management;
- Record maintenance and data entry.
Candidates for the position must possess the following qualifications:
- Strong verbal communication skills;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access;
- Ability to research information;
- A strong commitment to civil liberties;
- A kind and patient disposition; and
- Access to a personal vehicle is a plus.
