Thank you for your interest in joining our efforts to advance civil liberties as a volunteer with American Civil Liberties Union, Inc., American Civil Liberties Union Foundation, Inc., and your local affiliate (collectively referred to here as “ACLU Organizations”). Non-Partisanship
The ACLU Organizations are non-partisan organizations and do not endorse or oppose candidates for elected or appointed office.
The ACLU Organizations may share information with voters about issues and candidates' policy positions and records that you may be asked to share while volunteering. Please do not alter that content or the specific instructions you are given for its distribution. With regard to ballot measures, the ACLU sometimes advocates for the passage or defeat of a particular ballot measure, and you may be asked to do so while volunteering.
When speaking as a volunteer with the ACLU Organizations:
When speaking for yourself outside of ACLU Organization grassroots programs (i.e., in conducting activities in your personal capacity that are unrelated to your ACLU Organization volunteer activities, including on social media):
