Bio

Alexandra Johnson is a Skadden Fellow at the ACLU LGBTQ & HIV Project. Her fellowship project focuses on challenging prohibitions of and limitations on state funding for gender-affirming medical care, such as categorical exclusions of this care from Medicaid coverage.

Alexandra graduated from Yale Law School in 2024, where she was a NAACP LDF Earl Warren Civil Rights Scholar. During law school, she interned with the Yale Veterans Legal Services Clinic for five semesters and Public Justice’s Students’ Civil Rights Project. She also served as a Forum Editor on the Yale Law Journal, the Citations Editor on the Yale Journal of Law & Feminism, and the Political Action Co-Chair of Yale’s APALSA. Before law school, Alexandra worked as a legal assistant at a civil rights law firm. She received a B.A. in Philosophy summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
