Bio

The daughter of Nigerian immigrant parents, Tochi Ihekona hails from suburban Kansas City. A speech and debate champion, Ihekona is confident and unafraid to share her opinions about politics and race. Her political hero is Angela Davis, whose “Women, Race & Class” is bedtime reading. At Girls State, she campaigns on a platform of “truth” and is elected attorney general, earning her the opportunity to argue an abortion case in front of the Girls State Supreme Court. Ihekona is now a student at Howard University and aspires to form a career that will help people from marginalized communities who have been impacted by gentrification and redlining.
