The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sent a letter to Congress urging them to oppose S. 4136/H.R. 6408, legislation that would authorize the Secretary of the Treasury to unilaterally designate U.S. nonprofits as “terrorist supporting organizations,” strip them of their tax-exempt status, and effectively shut them down.
