ACLU Letter on Vote to Override Presidential Veto on National Emergency Declaration (H.J. Res. 46)

In this vote recommendation, the ACLU urged members of the House of Representatives to override President Trump’s veto on H.J. Res. 46. This joint resolution would terminate the so-called “national emergency” declared by President Trump in Proclamation 9844. Congress must not stand by as the President violates the Constitution by subverting the constitutional system of checks and balances.
