Illinois Civil Unions

Document Date: August 13, 2008

Real people in Illinois are hurt today because our families are denied basic protections afforded to other families. But now we have the opportunity to join other states in advancing fair treatment for same-sex couples.

The American Civil Liberties Union is working to pass a comprehensive civil union bill (House Bill 1826) and we need your help.

Real couples with real stories will help us convince the Illinois legislature that lesbian and gay couples deserve the legal protections necessary to sustain our relationships and families.

Winning recognition of civil unions in Illinois begins with you. Tell us your story.
