Thousands of people gathered across the country on Tuesday to protest the Supreme Court's decision to uphold President Trump's Muslim ban, which bars entry to the citizens of several countries, the vast majority of them predominantly Muslim. 

The protests kicked off in front of the Supreme Court shortly after the decision was announced, and *they* spread nationwide into Tuesday evening. People gathered in New York, Raleigh, Detroit, Anaheim, Minneapolis, and elsewhere chanting, "No hate, no fear, Muslims are welcome here," and "No ban, no wall.”

The 5-4 ruling upholding the ban has been likened to some of the most notorious decisions of the Supreme Court's history, including the 1857 Dred Scott decision that Black people were not entitled to the protections of the Constitution, and the 1944 Korematsu decision, which upheld President Franklin D. Roosevelt's executive order mandating the internment of citizens and residents of Japanese descent. "Today’s decision will go down as one of the worst in Supreme Court history," Cecillia Wang, ACLU deputy legal director, said.
