This letter from the National Coalition for Public Education details the signers’ opposition to the inclusion of provisions in S. 1177, the Every Child Achieves Act – a proposed reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education (ESEA) Act –  that would create or lead to a private school voucher, or make Title I funding portable. The letter was sent to the Senate on June 30, 2015 in advance of the bill’s scheduled floor debate on July 7.
