Letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch requesting that the Department formally announce that it will take the position in litigation that the prohibition on sex discrimination in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 – which bars employment discrimination on the basis of sex – extends to claims of discrimination based on an individual’s sexual orientation because it constitutes sex stereotyping and because it is sex discrimination per se.
