The ACLU sent this letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch on June 30, 2015, two months after she was sworn in and became the head of the U.S. Department of Justice. Our letter welcomes her to the position and offers several policy, legislative, and litigation recommendations for the Department to support or continue. These recommendations cover a broad range of our advocacy work, including religious liberty, criminal justice reform and border prosecutions, policing and racial profiling, immigration, privacy and surveillance, voting, and First Amendment issues.
