In this letter to the House Judiciary Committee, the ACLU urged Members of Congress to vote “YES” on Chairman Nadler’s Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute to H.R. 2214, and to amend the NO BAN Act so that it would rescind President Trump’s expanded Muslim ban, targeting Africans in particular (Presidential Proclamation 9883).

This bill is a significant step forward for Muslim communities as well as other communities that could be targeted discriminatorily or without good reason.
