On Friday, April 21st, 2017, the ACLU sent a letter to Congress, urging them to support H.R. 1809, the Juvenile Justice Reform Act of 2017. H.R. 1809 would reauthorize the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA), the only statute to provide federal standards and protections for state and locally run juvenile justice systems.
