On December 14, 2021, the ACLU and other civil society organizations wrote to U.S. Senate and U.S. House leaders, urging them to support legislation to prohibit the use of federal funds to weaken encryption or intentionally insert backdoors and other vulnerabilities into our software and hardware devices.
