Coalition Letter Urging Congress to Vote “No” on Reauthorization of Section 702 Surveillance Absent Significant Reforms

This September 7, 2017 coalition letter, signed by the ACLU, urges the Senate to vote against any reauthorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act unless it is significantly reformed. Under Section 702, the U.S. government routinely collects American’s international communications without a warrant. An identical letter was also sent to members of the House.
