ACLU Demands DHS Provide COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters to People in ICE Detention and Files FOIA Requests

On Dec. 15, the ACLU sent a letter demanding Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas implement a plan to immediately provide COVID-19 vaccine boosters to the more than 21,000 people held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers. The ACLU and seven of its affiliates filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and local public records act requests regarding the provision of COVID-19 vaccine boosters in 30 detention facilities with the largest incidence of COVID-19 outbreaks nationwide.
